Tamar is an Australian who has had an amazing and varied life. For the last 13 years she and her partner Jack have spent six months of each year traveling to different parts of the world. They have always loved traveling but these days they have the added focus of avoiding winter because Tamar has arthritis and has had a couple of hips and a knee replaced. She’s almost a bionic woman! However, she’s very active walking every day and loves walking in different parts of the world every year.
They are able to do this because they have a business in vendor finance real estate that they can run from anywhere that has internet access. The very first trip they took was to New York and London to test whether this was possible back in 2009. Tamar’s nephew in New York was getting married and while they were over there, they thought: let’s go to London to visit Jack’s old friends from when he’d lived there in his thirties.

It was quite an adventure because in those days Wi-Fi wasn’t as developed as it is now. They had to work from all sorts of different places such as Starbucks in New York, and local council libraries in the UK, because it was uncommon for places you stayed in to provide Wi-Fi. These days it’s easy. You don’t need your accommodation or even cafes to have internet connectivity because mobile/cell phones have lots of data and your laptop can be connected to your phone’s hotspot to access the internet.
After that year of discovery, there was no stopping them as each year Tamar and Jack travelled to different countries. One year it was Bali, the UK, then back via France, Vienna, Thailand and Vietnam. Another year they travelled to New Caledonia, San Francisco, Austin, North Carolina, Bermuda, New Orleans, New York, Boston and Maui. They prefer to stay for at least three weeks to two months in each place to get a feel for the place and connect with locals. In fact, in 2019, they spent the whole time in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The last two years with the world in lockdown clipped their wings somewhat, however, they still travelled north from their hometown of Sydney and did road trips to Cairns in sunny northern Australia where they stayed for three months in both 2020 and 2021, staying in Byron Bay for a month on the way.
In the last two years with the spread of Covid, many people have had to learn how to work remotely and so, along with this newfound flexibility, that whole aspect of travel/work possibilities has opened up. Also, retirement these days isn’t viewed as the be-all and end-all with flexible part-time options now available and, though passive income is the ideal situation, you can mix and match as well and take advantage of these new opportunities.
Tamar and Jack are in their seventies – the new forties – and foresee many years of ageless traveling ahead of them. Tamar is really interested in healthy living i.e. good diet and exercise which she knows is crucial for maintaining an active traveling lifestyle and she (and Jack) now see Crypto and Web 3.0 as being the future of where business (and the world) is headed.
Articles on great places to travel to, healthy living, and business opportunities that can be done remotely, including Crypto Investments will be gradually added to this website.
